When antiques dealer Gabriella Sarlo and interior designer Will Wick separately gathered a big enough cache of antique and contemporary home furnishings during trips to Europe, they decided about a year ago to start a home-furnishings showroom, Sarlo Wick, in San Francisco Design Center in SoMa. It will soon expand into two distinct venues.

Wick’s taste for the raw and unfinished and even adventurous object – such as coiled ropes that he uses as coffee tables or his version of the bean bag – and Sarlo’s penchant for quixotic Regency-style mirrored furniture and crystal chandeliers mesh well in their windowless, brick-walled store.

They used their things in the design of Carrots, a San Francisco clothing store. Wick also used many such objects in his library design at the recent San Francisco Decorator Showcase.
